Most PT Clinics Aren’t Built for Runners

You deserve more than 15-minute sessions with an aide, cookie-cutter programs, and a provider who’s never laced up a running shoe. Here’s what too many runners experience instead.

Why So Many Runners Stay Injured

Rushed Sessions, Zero Progress You’re handed off to a tech, given a sheet of generic exercises, and rushed out the door in 20 minutes. Weeks pass and the pain stays.

Most Physical Therapy Isn’t Designed for Runners

Insurance Dictates Your Care Your PT plan is determined by what your insurance will cover — not by what your body actually needs to get back to running.

The Real Reason Your Pain Keeps Coming Back

Treated Like a Body Part, Not an Athlete Your knee gets treated. Your running mechanics, training load, and goals? Never discussed. You finish a course of PT and re-injure within a month.

Why Salem Runners Choose The PT Project

We built The Physical Therapy Project for athletes who are serious about getting back to doing what they love — and staying there. Every provider holds a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) credential and brings real-world athletic experience to every session. When you’re searching for running physical therapy near me, you deserve a clinic that actually runs.

✓  60-minute, one-on-one sessions with a licensed PT — never an aide or assistant

✓ Out-of-network by design: your care is driven by your goals, not insurance limits — Superbill provided

✓ 4-time Best of the Willamette Valley winner for Physical Therapy, plus official PT provider for Salem Capitals Basketball and Marion Berries Baseball

“Wow, this place ROCKS! I am a super happy customer here working with the team on some recurring back pain. They are experts and you can see why as soon as you start getting care from them. I love the structure and how you get the entire time with a physical therapist (nothing feels rushed). The team listens very well and provides a complete care package. I would totally recommend this place to anyone in need of PT.”

★★★★★

“Great experience with Jon and the physical therapy project. I had severe back pain since giving birth and after working with Jon I am stronger and almost pain free. He taught me exercises and stretches I can continue to do on my own. And he helped put together a workout plan I can do that is back friendly. I highly recommend!!”

Common Questions

Do I need a physician referral to be seen?

No. Oregon is a direct-access state, which means you can schedule directly with our Physical Therapists without a doctor’s referral. Just call or book online to get started.

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider. We operate on a self-pay model so that your care is never limited or dictated by insurance benefits. We provide a detailed Superbill after each visit that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

How long are sessions?

Every session is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with a licensed Physical Therapist. You will never be handed off to an aide, assistant, or tech.

What makes The PT Project different from other PT clinics in Salem?

Every PT on our team holds a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) credential plus advanced certifications (Astym, FAAOMPT, TPI M2, CF-L1). We are out-of-network by design, we see one patient per hour, and we treat the athlete — not just the injury. We’ve also been voted Best of the Willamette Valley for Physical Therapy four times.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. We offer a free 15-minute discovery phone consult. It’s a no-pressure conversation where you can tell us about your injury and goals, meet our therapists, ask any questions, and decide together whether The PT Project is the right next step for you.

What is your satisfaction guarantee?

If you are ever dissatisfied with the level of care you receive, we will provide a full refund. We stand fully behind the quality of every session.

Do you offer home visits or mobile PT?

Yes. We offer home visits and mobile PT services for patients who prefer or require care outside of the clinic setting. Contact us to discuss your needs.
